Who we are
Florida Cleaning Direct is an independently owned Florida company. We are not a franchise, not a national directory, and not a gig-work app. Our whole operation is a small team that recruits local cleaning companies metro by metro, verifies them, prices the market, and routes each request to the three best-fit companies for the job.
The reason we exist is simple: a homeowner searching "cleaning service near me" gets ads from national dispatchers who subcontract the work, plus a wall of listings with no way to tell which company is insured. We flip that — verification first, then quotes, then you decide.
Every request is handled in English or Spanish. Our Spanish-language section serves the Miami-Dade, Hialeah, Broward and Orlando/Kissimmee corridor with the same vetted network.

How our verification process works
Cleaning is not a state-licensed trade in Florida, which is exactly why verification matters. Anyone can print a logo. Here is what a company has to produce before it gets a single lead from us — and what we re-check every 12 months.
1. Florida business registration
Verified against the Division of Corporations (Sunbiz). We match the legal entity name, status and registered agent to the company that applied — DBAs with no active filing behind them are rejected.
2. General-liability insurance
A current certificate of insurance on file with a minimum $1,000,000 per-occurrence limit, plus worker's compensation where crew size requires it. COIs are re-collected every 12 months; an expired COI pauses the company's leads the same day.
3. Background checks and bonding
Criminal background screening on every cleaner who enters a customer's home, and janitorial bonding for any company that holds keys or access codes. Companies that subcontract to unscreened gig workers are removed.
4. FDACS and FMCSA for movers
Any partner that also advertises moving must show an active FDACS mover registration under Florida Statute 507, and a valid USDOT/MC number in FMCSA's SAFER system for interstate work. Cleaning-only companies aren't asked for this — but if they touch a move, we check it.
5. Local trading history
At least 12 months of real trading in the metro, reviews we read ourselves, and a service-area confirmation by ZIP so you never get matched with a company driving 90 minutes to reach you.

Why we only cover Florida
Verification doesn't scale nationally without getting shallow. Florida keeps its own records — Sunbiz for entities, FDACS mover registrations under Statute 507, county tax receipts — and checking them properly means knowing where to look. A 50-state directory can't re-pull those records for every company every year. We can, because we only have one state to watch.
The cleaning itself is also genuinely different here. Year-round humidity means mildew on grout and AC vent covers, not just dust. Salt air pits fixtures on the coasts. Pinellas and Lee County hard water spots shower glass in days. Snowbird homes need October openings and April closings. Storm season brings post-hurricane debris cleans.

Licenses and COIs are re-checked every 12 months.
Do you check licenses with the state?
Yes. Business registration is verified against Florida's Division of Corporations (Sunbiz), and any company advertising residential or commercial moving alongside cleaning must show an active FDACS mover registration (Florida Statute 507) plus a USDOT/MC number in FMCSA's SAFER system for interstate moves. Cleaning itself is not a state-licensed trade in Florida, so for those verticals we verify business registration, tax registration, insurance and background checks instead of a trade license.
Why do you only cover Florida?
